Where are you located?
The Elite Mind Performance head office is located in London, Ontario CANADA. However, our work with athletes, performing artists, coaches and teams can be conducted in various settings: at our office, at local training or competition venues, or virtually via video-conferencing platforms. We also work with individuals, coaches, and teams from across Canada and the world. Wherever you are, we can help!
What is Mental Performance Consulting exactly?
There are still many individuals who misunderstand the field of mental performance and sport-based mental health, and how to access optimal mental performance. If you want to enhance your mental game, increase your mental toughness, and improve your mental well-being and mental health, then you have to put in the work and effort just as you do for your physical game. With our help you can train your mind in the same way as you train the rest of your body: with time, practice, and repetition you'll form the habits that shape your behaviour. Having the right evidence-based guidance is key and we're here to help.
How does consulting work?
Typically, we'll work one-on-one with an individual, or in a group setting with a team, to develop the necessary mental skills and techniques to enhance performance and to optimize mental health and well-being. The process is unique for each individual and team, and therefore the number of sessions differs according to the needs and goals of the individual or team.
What's the first step?
The first step is to set up a consultation where we discuss performance goals and challenges and develop strategies to help reach those goals and manage the challenges. This is also a time for us to get to know each other and figure out if we would be a good fit. Following the initial consultation, if there is an interest to pursue the counselling work on a more regular basis, then we would discuss options and create a plan tailored specifically to meet your needs and goals. The consulting relationship can take place over the course of several weeks, months, and even years.
Will sessions be covered by my insurance?
Mental Performance Consulting and Counselling sessions are not covered under OHIP; however, some insurance carriers may cover these services. If having services covered by your insurance is necessary for you, please double check with your carrier to ensure they cover services provided by a Certified Mental Health Professional (OAMHP) and/or a Canadian Certified Counselor (CCC). If your plan includes a Health Care Spending Account, our services are considered an eligible medical expense as defined by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and therefore, our services may be claimed on your income tax return.
What are your fees?
Our regular rate for individual one-on-one counselling appointments is $160 CDN per 50-minute session plus applicable taxes. Our hourly rate for group and team sessions (including workshops and seminars) is $250 CDN plus applicable taxes. We also offer packages and custom programming; please contact us to learn more about these options.
